Heartbreakers

Okay, I have a few more Valentine pictures. Mackenzie wore some cute Valentine jammies to the hockey game and I was going to take pictures there, but our little digital camera decided to break, so I didn't get any from Valentine's night. But she slept in those jammies and I took these pictures on Sunday morning. The sequence goes like this: smile cute, fall over, try to get the hat off, totally cover my eyes, rescued by mom.

While we were at the hockey game, Tom and Patti gave the kids these adorable Valentine shirts so they wore them yesterday. Here they are. Mackenzie's says "Be Mine" and Rylan's says "Heart Breaker". Rylan sat with Aunt Patti all night at the game, he just loves her!

I had to take a picture like this to show off Mackenzie's first jeans! It took me a while to find some because most of the jeans that are long enough for her legs are way too big in the waist. Baby jeans are made for roly poly chubby babies and she's just a skinny-mini. But I found these at Old Navy and they are so cute, and so soft!

The best shot we got. Some days they are just not in the mood for pictures!

Mmmm!

Thanks to Jessie S. we made a new dessert that was super easy. Not to mention SUPER yummy and very kid friendly! They are kind of like mini-fruit pizzas.

Here's the recipe:
Shell: Fill each well of a mini-muffin pan 1/3 - 1/2 full of sugar cookie dough. Bake for 5-8 minutes. Right as you take them out, tap the pan on the counter or or use the end of a spatula to make little wells. Let cool.

Filling: Beat together 1 package cream cheese, 1 tub Cool Whip, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Spoon filling into cookie shells or use pastry bag to pipe filling in.
Place small slice of strawberry (or other fruit) on the top, and refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!

Taggies

Mackenzie LOVES tags! Anytime she has a stuffed animal, she manages to find the tag and sticks it right in her mouth. I knew there was a brand of stuff that were made with tags all over it for this reason, so I checked out their stuff at Hallmark. They are all called Taggies and they make all kinds of blankets, toys, books, etc. So Mackenzie got a giraffe for Valentine's Day and she loves it. It's weighted and has a bell in it too. Here are some pictures of her eating the tags. The stuff is pretty spendy, so I'm planning to make a little lovey blanket with tags on it. Another sewing project! I'll let you knoe how it goes, it might be a disaster. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I should have posted this yesterday, but we were too busy relaxing. The four of us just hung out at home all day and then we went to a hockey game last night. It was a great day! Here's our Valentine photo shoot.

Nothing exciting

I have no new pictures, but thought I should give a little update. We haven't been up to much at all lately, just taking it easy. My parents came up last Monday and stayed with us until Wednesday, it was great! Rylan kept them busy playing and I couldn't be happier that my mom loves to do laundry, it's so awesome! We had such a fun time with them and I miss them a ton. I wish we could see them every day!

Oh, I have a good Rylan story. We're constantly working on manners and he now says "please" and "thank you" pretty consistently on his own. Our next feat is getting him to say "no thanks" instead of yelling "no" or "don't want it". So the other night at dinner I asked him if he wanted something (I don't even remember what it was) and he calmly said "don't want it please". I thought that was pretty close to "no thanks" so we'll take it!

The last of Mexico

Here are the last ones! Well, unless I get more from other people that are blog-worthy.

The newlyweds with Mackenzie

Rylan getting a massage from Daddy. He thought the table was pretty cool!

Mackenzie discovered that her toes are fun to suck on while in Mexico. It must have been because she never had very many clothes on!

My 3 loveys!

Rylan was especially affectionate in Mexico, not sure why, but he came up to me numerous times just to give me a big hug or kiss. He was probably very grateful for getting him out of of the cold and snow!

Mackenzie and Jocelyn, BFF's! Jocelyn is Brian's sister's daughter. She's so adorable and was so good the whole trip!

Most of the guys went fishing and here is Andy with his sailfish.

A few other guys caught sailfish and here they all are at the fish fry!

Katie and Brian making pancakes for everyone one morning.
Their dog, Bruno.

Rylan with Merrilee's dog, Jack. Thank goodness Jack is as good with kids as our dog, Ace, because Rylan needed someone to sit on!

Rylan and Chalapa eating cookie dough.

Nick and Andy going surfing.

Like father, like son

Only in Mexico can you wear this to rehearsal!

Yes, that's me. I sang in the wedding and despite being really nervous, it went great. I sang "Footprints in the Sand" by Leona Lewis and then Jarrod(in the background) and I sang "The Prayer" by Celine Dion and Josh Groban. Jarrod is amazing and it was a pleasure to sing with him.

A ride on the beach

Nick and Juan with their girls, Mackenzie and Jennifer. Another adorable baby girl!

Hanging out at the bar. It didn't take Rylan long to figure out that the peanuts were kept on a shelf behind the bar. He was helping himself by day 3.

Mackenzie and Grandma shortly after we arrived.

"Watch Hanger!"

This morning, Nick and Rylan were looking through all our DVD's picking one out to watch. Rylan would take one out, Nick would tell him what it was and Rylan would repeat it. They decided on Veggie Tales The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. Half way through that movie, Rylan kept saying, "watch hanger, watch hanger". We had no idea what he was talking about, so we finally asked him to get it. He went to the DVD drawer and pulled out the movie Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman! He held it up and says, "hanger" and points to the hook on the front. So funny! I've been laughing about it all day!
