I'm a Stay At Home Mom!!!!
Today is my first official day with no responsibilities! (well, outside of being a wife and mom) Our last day of school was last Friday, and then Tuesday and Wednesday of this week we had staff development and clerical days. Wednesday I got my whole classroom packed up and cleaned out and I'm done! Yesterday I wasn't paid for anything, but I spent the day on the interview team to find my replacement for a year. It was a long day, but it was a great experience. We found a wonderful teacher who I think will do a great job with my team for the year. So today, I'm home! And one of the best parts, I'm home alone! I know that maybe sounds terrible, but I brought Rylan to daycare so I can relax and get stuff done at home today. I have a whole slew of laundry to do and I plan to get some serious cleaning done as well. I think we're going to the lake tonight and then on Sunday, my parents will be coming up to take Rylan and I home with them to the farm for a week. I will try to keep this blog more updated, but I don't know how well I'll do with pictures for a while. I had to turn in my wonderful computer when I left the school on Wednesday, so I'm getting used to a PC again. I loved my Mac! Anyhow, I won't be taking this computer with me to my parents, so I won't be able to upload any pictures until the following week. Well, back to the laundry!

Fishing
Nick and his dad got a new fishing boat, so Nick has taken it out a few times this past week. This picture was after the first trip and Rylan was so excited to see fish. I just love his face in this one, you can see how his whole body was wiggling.

We also went fishing yesterday as a family. We went to the lake where Nick's family has a cabin, so while Nick fished in the afternoon, Rylan and I were able to take an awesome nap. Rylan never caught any fish, but he loves to reel in the line. Once it's reeled in, he's quick to tell you "fro ow" (throw out). Here are pictures from the morning.

Fishing with daddy

Ace peeking to the back of the boat. We tried to keep him sectioned to the front, but he always had his head through.

Was he born to fish or what?

It was a beautiful day

Nick's first catch of the day, a Northern Pike

Nick ended up catching 3 Northern's and 2 Largemouth Bass.

Being goofy
Rylan has these sunglasses that he occasionally likes to put on, but will never wear for an extended amount of time. They have an elastic strap that velcros in the back and I don't think he likes that. Well he brought them to me the other night so we decided to be goofy and take some pictures.

It was Nick's idea to have Rylan be Ray Charles.

Nick and I doing our best Rylan "cheese" smile!

The latest
Sorry it's been so long! There are only 2 weeks of school left so things have been really busy. Not a whole lot has changed. I'm still growing every day and I can tell the baby is getting more cramped as movements are more painful for me. Rylan has been sleeping really well lately. Some nights he'll never get out of his bed during bedtime, and other times, he'll only get out a few times, but just telling him through the door to get back into bed will usually take care of it now. He's been talking so much more lately, mimicking everything you say, it's so fun to listen to him sound out words and say new things. I will have to get it on video of some of his newest words, because they are so darn cute! He also has been getting frustrated when you don't understand him, which is hard because then all he does is cry and then I just have to start guessing until I get it right, then he'll calm down.
We were quite busy this past weekend, so here's the scoop and a bunch of pictures. Nick's sister's fiance graduated from college this past weekend so his family was in town and we all hung out together. We all went bowling together on Saturday afternoon and had a great time. Rylan hadn't taken a nap and I was worried about keeping him close by and not all over the lanes. At first all he wanted to do was play with the bowling balls, and was getting mad that he couldn't pick them up, but eventually, he just sat on my lap and watched everyone bowl the whole first game. He would watch intently and then cheer no matter what happened. During the second game, Nick took him for his turns and as you can see from the pictures, he LOVED it! He was even quite patient waiting for his turn.

He would just sit there and watch while it rolled down the lane.

No matter if it hit the pins or went into the gutter, he would stand up and clap all the way back.

Watching with Mommy

Drying his hands like the big boys!

I also had a wonderful Mother's Day. We went to Nick's parents for brunch, but I had a nice relaxing morning getting ready as Nick took Rylan and Ace on a bike ride to Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had gorgeous weather so we ate and played outside for a bit and came home around 11:30am for naps. Rylan went right to sleep and so did I. We both took a good 2 hour nap and then Nick and his dad took Rylan golfing so I had a few more hours to myself to relax and do a little shopping. It was so relaxing. Then we all went to Nicks' aunt and uncle's house for an awesome family dinner. I had a wonderful day and couldn't have asked for more! Here are 2 pictures we took before bedtime.

I love Rylan's face on this one. He was saying cheese, but you can tell he was getting sick of it! What a sweetie! Oh yeah, and I look huge because I am! Does this baby make me look fat or what! Haha!

WooHoo - Part 2!
Okay, so maybe the key is to lay down with him for a while, because I did that again last night and he only got out once! It's a little difficult because I have to try to balance on the edge of the bed and then he keeps kicking me in the belly, but oh well! It was great again to have a stress-free bedtime! I think we may be on to something. I won't get too excited though because I know it still might be a 2-night fluke.
Here are some pictures I took last night. He loves to wear our shoes, so he will bring one shoe by the refrigerator so he has something to hang on to, put one foot in it and shuffle through the dining room to the entry. Then he'll take it off and go get another one. As you can see, he gets quite the stash built up.

The last time, he wouldn't go until I took a picture of him saying "cheese"!
