I love my son, I love my son, I love my son...
Just keeping saying it Lanae. I'm sitting on the couch feeding Mackenzie and Nick is giving Rylan a bath. I hear them brushing teeth and then Rylan comes streaking into the living room in his birthday suit. This happens fron time to time and usually Nick is close behind with a diaper. But there was no Nick tonight. Rylan ran to the closet and hid inside. I was still waiting for Nick to come looking for him when I hear something, something like water running. Deep down I knew what it was, but was still hoping I was hearing Ace pee outside the window. No such luck. Rylan had just peed on the closet floor. So I finally yell for Nick and whwn he opens the door, an excited Rylan yells, "pee in there!" No kidding?! Thank goodness the closet has tile floor and not carpet. I could really use the potty training fairy about now!
2 months old!
I can't believe she's 2 months old already! Mackenzie is doing great! We have a really good schedule right now. She usually only gets up once during the night to eat, then she's right back to sleep. She'll eat around 8:00am, then she sleep all morning. I can usually get Rylan down for a nap before she wakes up at noon to eat. She'll be awake for around an hour, then she's back to sleep until around 3. Sometimes she goes back to sleep right away for a short nap, sometimes she's up, but then she's usually awake for the evening from 5-9 or 10, when we go to bed. It's a great schedule and I do still get alone time with Rylan which is nice, we both need that. She is smiling a lot more lately and I could stare at that beautiful grin all day long! One thing that will usually always get her smiling is lightly blowing on her face, it's great! She is such a sweet little girl and we couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect baby! She is only sleeping in her swing or carseat lately, but as long as she sleeps somewhere, we're happy. Here are her 2 month photos that I took yesterday.

My little man
Okay, I feel bad for saying that Rylan is my bad child. He isn't bad, he's just a little naughty sometimes, but more often than not, he's the sweetest little boy ever! He's a Momma's boy and I love it! It melts me every time he says "Mommy sing" at bedtime and "love you, ni-nite" when I leave the room. I love watching the world through his eyes, makes me appreciate all the little things. He's amazed by simple things, and it's good to take a step back and enjoy the tickling of a lady bug crawling on your hand or the wonder of a plane flying by. He's an amazing little boy and I hope he's never too big to sit on my lap and cuddle with me!

Good Child/Bad Child
I have one of each today. The good one wears pink. This is Rylan's last week at daycare but he's only been going mornings now. So I pick him up and we go home, take a nap, then get up to play the rest of the afternoon. When I picked him up today, Martie said he was really tired, so that was good. We did the regular nap routine, but after a while, I could hear him playing. Not a big deal, he will sometimes play a little bit then go to sleep. I told him twice to go back to sleep and he would get back in his bed, but then I'd hear him playing again. So finally after an hour and a half, I decided enough is enough and I took all his toys out of his room. It has now been almost 3 hours since we got home and I think he's finally asleep because I can't hear anything, but I don't dare check. You might think, "missing one nap, what's the big deal?" But you don't know how crabby he will be later tonight if he doesn't take a nap! I don't want to deal with that. So, here's the evidence of my bad child:

And here's my good child!

Weekend fun
We had a wonderful weekend at the lake! The weather was gorgeous, and the kids were great! Mackenzie slept great, she is starting to go longer between feedings, and she's so content while she's awake, I just love it! Besides a few meltdowns, Rylan was good too. He's normally kind of a picky eater but he ate great this weekend, and had a blast in the water. He's getting braver too, going deeper and deeper. Don't worry, he's always got a life jacket on and we're right there, but he just loves the water! Here's the evidence!

Update
Sorry I haven't updated since our bad night. We've discovered the cause of Rylan's bizarre behavior lately - he's teething! His first 2nd-year molar has poked through so hopefully the rest follow quickly! We suspected that's what was going on, but didn't have any hard evidence until now.
Mackenzie is going through a growth spurt I think because she is eating like crazy lately! She has been a little more fussy during the day, but she's been sleeping pretty well the last few nights, so I can't complain.
Here are pictures!

What's wrong with my children!!!!
So here it is, midnight, and I'm still up with Mackenzie. Lately the latest she's up is 10:30/11. She's refusing to sleep in her crib! She has to nurse to sleep, which takes 10 minutes tops, then I sit here a while to make sure she's out, but when I put her down, she wakes up and of course cries. So now she's nursing again, but obviously isn't hungry because she's letting it all run out of her mouth, nice. I'm extremely tired and losing patience.
Rylan on the other hand is feeling better, but he refused to take a nap today so we had a cranky little boy this evening and he went to bed early, about 7:45. He went down just fine but at 9:30pm (the first time I thought Mackenzie would go to sleep) he woke up crying. Nick went to check on him and he was drenched in sweat. Nick got him cleaned up and tried putting him back to sleep, but he only wanted mommy. So I tried to comfort him, but nothing. He cried for another 15 minutes while I tried everything. He said no to every question I asked him and was just beside himself. I figured there must be something hurting him until, as a last resort, I asked if he wanted to watch Nemo. The switch was flipped and he was fine! So, we watched the first 15 minutes of Finding Nemo when I successfully convinced him it was bedtime again. Thankfully, he's still sleeping, but I just know that once she goes to sleep, he'll probably be up again. I NEED SLEEP!
Why is it that it can't just be one child at a time, it has to be both of them. And conveniently for Nick, they both need me. He can't do a thing. At least one of us will sleep well tonight.

Swingin
Here's Mackenzie's first video! She was in her swing and this is the first time she'd been watching the mobile with such interest. She also does a little talking too, it makes me smile every time I hear it! Disclaimer: it may make you a little sea sick. I really thought I was holding the camera still, but I guess not!
House Full of Sickies
Yep, that's us. Rylan has been sniffly and congested for a few days and we've been hoping it's teething, but looks like he caught something else. He's has a fever since last night so we've been giving him Tylenol, but as soon as it wears off, his fever is back up. The good thing is that his mood is quite good. And we've actually had a pretty good weekend with potty training. He's been telling us more and more that he needs to go to the potty chair, but usually it's too late and he's already gone in his diaper. However, he's pooped in the potty for the first time this morning! We made such a big deal about it, I hope he continues to tell us.
Anyhow, so last night Nick started getting a sore throat and a headache and now this morning I had the same thing. Thank goodness that's all we have so far, and Tylenol and Luden's can take care of those. I just hope and pray that Mackenzie doesn't get sick. I really don't want my poor little girl to have a fever or feel sick at all. We've been trying to sanitize everything around here and shielding Mackenzie from Rylan's sneezes. He's not allowed in her room right now and we're washing our hands more than ever, so hopefully we can all kick this without too much damage! At least with the Olympics, there's always something interesting to watch on TV that's child appropriate!
Here are some pictures from the past few days.
The Weiner-Mobile was in town this week so we went to see it. I think it was getting ready to leave as we got there, so all we got were 2 pictures. Rylan thought it was pretty cool though! He wouldn't stop saying 'hot dog truck' all night!

Since the only time the sandbox is in the shade is during nap time, I got an umbrella to put in the backyard. I didn't feel like digging a hole for it though, so this worked perfectly and Rylan loved that his slide ended in the sandbox.
Cross-eyed, but cute none the less!

The shirt says it all!

Siblings, Soccer, Stroller, and Sling
Sibling pictures we took the other night. Rylan's shirt says "I'm the Big Brother" and Mackenzie's says "I'm the Baby Sister".

Rylan playing "sot-ter"

I try to go on a walk at least once a day with the kids. Here is our Mac truck of a double stroller! Actually it's not that bad, but I bet with both kids in it and the carseat it weighs around 80 lbs! It's great for my weight loss plan! Seriously though, I love it! We debated on whether we should get a double or just let Rylan walk, but he's so slow, I'm so glad we got it.

The Little Miss in her carseat fit right in the stroller

Here she is in another sling. I like this position better and so does she, falls right to sleep as long as I keep moving. I have my hands on her in the pictures, but I can let go and she doesn't move.

At the lake, Nick, Rylan, and Ace went looking for old railroad spikes and Nick took these pictures.

She rolled over!
Yesterday Mackenzie rolled over! She was sleeping after nursing and I out her in her crib on her tummy hoping she would stay sleeping. I should have known better! After getting something out to eat, she started to cry. I let her cry while I ate quick and did a few dishes and when I went to get her, she was on her back! I couldn't believe it! She's a strong girl but I guess she's even more strong when she's mad!

Week in review
Here are a few pictures from our week.
1 month old!

I absolutely love this picture, but you can really see her baby acne.

This bunny plays "Twinkle Twinkle" and she loves it, but so does Rylan.

I was putting clothes away and when I turned back around, this is what he had done, traded for a hammer! At least he shares!

She held her head up like this for almost 2 minutes! She's a strong little bugger! And that's her first cloth diaper too!

Sleeping beauty

First time in the sling, luckily she fell alseep because I was getting dinner ready for Rylan and it really helped me out!

And here's our other little bugger. Lately he has been screaming "cheese ball" when the camera comes out. It will be funny until we are taking a family shot or something.
