My sweetie & the basement!

Here is Rylan taking a bath tonight. He was really excited because it's a bath at Grandma's house. Grandma and Grandpa are still on vacation, but we invaded their house for a few days. We are finishing our basement and the texturing was done yesterday and the painting was done today, so the fumes in our house are pretty strong. We decided it's best for me and the baby not to stay there. So here is Rylan in Grandma's tub. I wish you could hear him say "cheese" in these pictures, but you can't, so just imagine the sweetest little voice ever!

Here are pictures of the progress happening in our basement. I was going to wait until it was completely done, but I will get started now. I think I'll wait to take any more until at least the trim is done, that should be Monday or Tuesday.

Poor Guy!

After I posted those pictures yesterday, I realized that Rylan had been pulling at and digging in his ear. So, off we went to the walk in clinic. Sure enough, he has an ear infection. Poor guy! It crossed my mind on Wednesday when I stayed home with him because he had a fever, but his mood was fine, he was just more sleepy, and he has a cold. Well, on Thursday, he was fine all day, and even yesterday, he was fine, but he slept a lot during the day. I'm glad I took him in though, at least he's on an antibiotic now and his little ear can start to heal. We're very thankful that this is only his second ear infection, and his last one was last February, so we're doing pretty good. If there is one silver lining in all of this, it's that he's extra cuddly. Like I said, his mood is great, but then he'll want to climb up on your lap with a stuffed animal and in minutes he'll be sound asleep. At least he's not in a lot of pain, that would just kill me! So once again, we're a household of sickies!

20 weeks = half way done!

It's gone fast, but lately, I'm really ready for it to be done! I can't get healthy, and being pregnant, sicknesses hit me twice as hard. We've all been battling another bad cold and it's hard when I can't take anything for the symptoms. Oh well, at least the baby is still healthy, that's all that matters. But I can say that I really haven't enjoyed this pregnancy much. I am glad that now with a fitted shirt, I am clearly pregnant, not just fat anymore, but with baggy things, I still look chubby. Oh well. It's just so much fun to feel my little girl kicking every day now! It's the weekend now, so I'm planning to rest as much as possible and get well! Here are my 20 week pictures!

And here are some pictures of Rylan. We got him some rainboots for the spring and he loves them! Can you tell?!

He was really getting into playing the piano today. I really hope he develops a love for all music, because it brings so much to your life. We always have the radio on and we love to sing and dance around the house, so hopefully that exposure helps.

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We had our ultrasound this morning, and it's a little girl in there! She was a little stubborn at first and kept her legs closed, but eventually let us have a peek so we can start buying pink! Everything else looked good, she has all her organs and her heart was beating strong. She measured 1 day ahead of schedule, so that's good too! She is approximately 0.6 pounds, but is still growing like a weed! It's just amazing to think that in only 20 weeks, this baby has grown from almost nothing to a little human being with working systems and a brain and everything! Wow! We are so excited to be giving Rylan a little sister and we hope they will love each other very much! We have some ultrasound photos, but I'll have to scan them in, so you'll have to be patient. Have a good day!

Cool! My 100th post!

This is my 100th post on here! Not bad right? This is one of my new favorite videos of Rylan, he's saying his newest word/s, "See ya" and then wanting me to take his picture. The kid loves the camera! Sorry I couldn't get it to be upright. You'll just have to look sideways. The best part is his little voice, so turn up your speakers!

More of the goof!

He loves hangers lately.
We are currently having our basement finished and when Rylan and I get home, the workers have still been here lately. The first time they were still here, Rylan stood at the steps and would make this face every time he heard something. The face isn't new, but I haven't taken pictures of it yet.

This one was tonight, he came in close for a cheesy "cheese".

This is how we read books most nights, but tonight, he needed extra "stuff". Once I took a picture, he was sure going to ham it up for the rest of them!

And here's the other little goof (or at least I'm sure he or she will be) We're at 18 weeks now. The ultrasound to find out the big question is next Friday, the 15th!

Oh, tantrums are fun!

I hope you know I'm being facetious! It seems we are entering the terrible 2's a little early, as Rylan has been throwing some tantrums lately. This morning, after numerous tries to get him in his coat and boots peacefully, I had no choice but to resort to wrestling or I would be late for work. It's never been that hard either, he was screaming and flailing! After he was dressed, he wouldn't stand up, but rolled around on the floor, still screaming. I brought my stuff out to the car and when I came back, he was at the door (still screaming) but then ran away so I had to chase him through the house to catch him. Getting into the car was no easy feat. He's much bigger and stronger than the last time he hated his car seat. I managed to keep my cool and just get him buckled. He cried all the way to daycare, but the INSTANT I opened the car door, he stopped. It was like a switch. What could I do but laugh? I was actually kind of hoping that our daycare lady would see it because she says she has only seen him crabby once. As we got into the house, he was fine until we started taking off his jacket. All of a sudden, the tantrum was back! I could barely hold him while he was flailing around, so like any good mom, I left him there screaming. On my way to work, Martie called to tell me that she had barely gotten around the corner into the living room and he stopped, so he was fine all day.

Tonight, he started having another tantrum, so again like any good mom, I took pictures to show you all!

Pictures

He picked out this hat on this morning , so even though the outfit is a little big, he wanted to wear it! What a handsome guy!
With help from Dad, Rylan made his first pieces of hunting gear just like Dads!

Leupold binoculars
Swarovski spotting scope

Last Sunday, we went sledding at the dike and although it was a beautiful day, it was a little icy to really enjoy it. Nick had to carry Rylan and the sled up to the top and I tried to take pictures. Meanwhile, Ace was trying to maul them on the way down. We got a few pictures, but Rylan seemed to enjoy the sled ride to and from the hill just as much. He loves being outside!
