More To Catch Up On

I realized I didn't post the rest of the pictures from our time with my family a few weeks ago. We did some hiking at a local nature preserve and also took a long bike ride to the State Park. Even though Rylan had a major meltdown on the bike ride home and Dad got a flat tire, we had a great time.

Hiking down the trail
Uncle Spencer helping Rylan get close enough to the water to rinse his hands off.

Mackenzie loved being in the backpack, her view was great!
My wonderful parents

Do you think we could get both kids looking and smiling at the same time? Apparently, the backpack tasted real good.

Throwing rocks in the water
We even found a playground!

Cooling off a little after our long bike ride.

Beautiful day!

My sweet girl!
Look at those buns! His shorts were falling off, so we let him play in his undies. He had a blast!
So fun!
She wanted to get down so bad!

On the morning of Mackenzie's birthday, she got to open her present that came in the mail from Aunt Katie and Uncle Brian. We had no idea it was wrapped so many times! :)

Ooo, what's this?

Rylan loves to help

I think we're almost there!

I think they were both more excited about the paper!

Yay! A cute dress! A little girl can not have enough cute dresses! Thanks so much Katie and Brian!

SHE GOT A TOOTH!!!!

On the 4th of July, Mackenzie's first tooth popped through! You can barely see it, but you can feel the sharp little point. The best part is that it hasn't seemed to bother her at all, so hopefully all her teeth come in so easily!

More Birthday Fun!

We had Mackenzie's big party last night. As soon as people started showing up, Mackenzie was such a ham, yelling and singing so everyone would pay attention to her. It's like she knew the party was just for her! We had a great time and of course, Mackenzie loved her cake again! She received wonderful presents, which included a lot of dresses. I'm going to have to stop using bibs so she can wear multiple outfits a day!

Playing with Great Grandpa Russ
Getting a kiss from big brother!

She's definitely her mother's daughter, love that cake!

New dress and hat!
Love my presents!
Another adorable dress!

Happy FIRST Birthday Mackenzie!

My baby girl is ONE today! It's strange, because it doesn't seem like she should be one yet, but it also feels like we've had her in our family forever. She's just such a love, I can't even handle it! I'm not sure how much she weighs yet, we have her 1 year check-up next Monday, but I'm guessing it's close to 20 pounds, she feels much heavier lately. She still eats like a pig and is still our toothless wonder. I know she would love to eat more table food, but I just can't give her that until she has teeth. She'll have to keep waiting I guess! She's not quite walking, but when she's standing next to something, we've seen her let go a few times and balance there for a bit before she fell down, so maybe walking soon? Who knows! She's a fast little bugger though and gets into everything! Her favorite things to go for are books, papers, and cords. Oh, and an old remote control we've let her have, she loves that thing!

Below are pictures from today, but go here and here to remember how it all began and see her first pictures!
And just to compare, here she is on her blanket at 12 days old.

And here she is at 12 months!

We had a party for her with my brother, my parents and grandparents this past Thursday because we were down visiting them. And YAY! She dug into that cake like nobody's business! Rylan didn't really want to touch his first birthday cake, so it was so much fun watching her devour it!

Right in the tub to get cleaned off!
All cleaned and ready for presents. Rylan was such a helper, showing her the cards and opening presents, what a wonderful big brother! Grandpa, what are you doing to me?All tired out from a long day, snuggling with Great Grandma
