Easter On The Slopes

We headed to Big Sky for Easter and had a great time!  We weren't sure what the snow conditions would be like since it's been unseasonably warm everywhere this winter, but the first day on the slopes brought lots of big flakes all day long and lots of powder!  I've never been excited for snow in April before!

Rylan heading up the bunny hill for ski school.  (He's the one in the middle.)

My good-looking snowboarding partner.

The second day of snowboarding was windy and cold, but still great.
The last day, Easter day, couldn't have been more beautiful.  The sky was blue, the air was calm and warm, it was perfect!  Check out this view!  Can't deny that this is God's handiwork!

Taking a little break.

Rylan did so great at ski school!  On day 2, he said he was ready to come with us, so we headed up on his first trip up the chair lift.  We obviously did an easy run, but with the powder at the top and a part that was a little steep, he got frustrated and there were lots of tears.  When he calmed down and we got down that spot, we took it easy the rest of the way down.  It took us almost 2 hours and then he decided to be done for the day.  We were worried that he would never want to do it again, but he went back to ski school the next day and had exciting news when we picked him up at the end of the day.  He and the instructor had gone up the chair lift and down the mountain 3 times!!!!  And he loved it!!!!  We are so proud of him!

Me taking a break.

We unexpectedly ran into some friends while there.  It was fun to hang out with them and spend some time together on the slopes.

Tired and happy after a fun day!

Mackenzie went to the daycare right at the base area and loved it.  We were going to try her on skis, but she wasn't into it, so we'll wait another year.  Next year she can go to ski school too.

We were going to go tubing on Easter, but it was too warm and the hill was too slushy = tubes just got stuck.  So they offered us the zip line instead.  Nick and Rylan were attached and Mackenzie and I were attached.  We all went at the same time and Nick had the camera so he snapped some pictures during the ride.  We didn't know if Mackenzie would be scared, but she loved it, giggled the whole time!

Getting harnessed up.

Ready...
 Go!
